quick work and fun learning how to animate utilising maya’s tools. I still have a habit of pose to pose like its 2d animation but, this is so much fun.
here is my demo reel of Suter a half man half rhino character. I had alot of fun creating this and for my first full character using zbrush I dont think its half bad. I am working on a few other projects with the lessons learned from this character.
No where close to being finished but here is the update for the project. Thankfully I have a couple more weeks to work on it before I plan on rendering it. I am sculpting it in zbrush but I plan on rigging it in maya then posing it and then touching it all up in zbrush. I also want to get it to a point where I can see if I can put it in unreal engine. Kind of excited to see how far I can push myself in sculpting this. Finaly completed Or close to completed
Its coming along slowly my teacher at Platt is awesome so this is looking better and better.
I have been having a blast getting this all put together. I have to finish the image map create a displacement map along with a bump map, then rig it and create blends (I believe that’s the term for the multiple modifications to the geometry for use in animations and lip sync). I am so happy with how the prelims are turnng out and I cannot wait to add hair to this guy. Don Tonnery is his name only because for the VO I am going to use my Sean Connery voice for his lines. I think it will be kind of funny. I should have done the khaki speech from Fight Club (the best movie on the planet and the book was snazzy as well).
I have a couple of beginning with zbrush type of trials. the first one is my first sphere and play around with z brush, the second is a trial head created in maya for base and then played around in zbrush. The third my instructor gave me a arm and hand low poly maya file and then I brought it into zbrush and then detailed it a bit. I didnt go over board just because I am new to this program but trying to get down the making of fingernails and other wrinkle details and make it look believable.
I was digging on this the turn table, I even had fun making the studio and pedestal she stands on.Next up organic modeling and its going to be so much fun to take what I learned with this model and expand on it and letting my sculpting take over a bit (I havent sculpted in years probably suck again haha).
