I have been doing a couple of differet characters trying to figure out which one will look better for the class project. Looks as if the female will be the easiest and let me concentrate on the texture and animation. I will try to post the other guy. This is Sasha I am UV mapping right now and will texture and animate it in the next couple of weeks. I also plan on doing same to commander kreg. I think I have a good way in dialing him in. I got caught up in details and just messed up the poly count.

The final video for my dynamics lab. There a quite a few mistakes but, I am happy how the newton pendulum turned out. I added a hinge swing and gravity to the spheres. I pulled one and let it swing into action and let the dynamics take over. I created a storyboard before hand and then developed the scene in maya. The only change is the original was supposed to be Dr.Frankensteins lab, kind of afer med school all nice and clean before the idea of creating life made him a bit mad. I couldnt see everything through the glass and it made renduring a pain so I was joking with the instructor about making this the invisible man’s lab. I was rendering and then I thought how my joke actually would make sense so I changed it.
I really like how it turned out.

My dynamics class is pretty cool but, is taking some work on my part. Usually I am really good right off the bat with anything artistic (not bragging just usually how it is) but dynamics is kind of a challenge and actually kind of fun figuring it out. I am almost done modeling the lab, still need to model the curtains, a sink and towel rack, and get all the dynamics going. I just have a hard time getting the smoke looking ok inside the distiller.

When I get a chance I will post some more and maybe post the storyboard, also the final video. I am going to have a lighting bolt/electrical bolt shooting between the copper deals in the back behind the table. My favorite part of this is the way the cieling lamps came out and the lightning cylinders came out. The fireplace logs are really cool and the texture came out awesome and once I place fire they will be seen. I dont think I am doing to bad since I have only been doing this for a couple of months and am getting pretty confident in my work. I am also (at home) starting a new project modeling a Lamborgini, I wanna see how detailed I can get with a real work item. I will start posting that project probably this weekend.

This is an earlier version with the daylight lighting scheme on I am pretty thrilled with the detail on the railing and well the cirular stairway. I am just happy over all oh and you can see the first version of the table. I recently changed it in a bid to make it look a bit more art deco (one of my favorite artistic style).

I worked so hard on this and I think it turned out alright for my first one. I have to really hit the books and work hard to get supreme at this and I will. If I push myself like I have been doing in a year I should be in a pretty good spot and its when I get out of school.

So far I got a bunch of the details but still need to do alot and cleanup my mistakes. The wheel is a separate object but the car is from a cube. I still need to do rear tires, jet engine, and flap details. I think I am going to clean up front tire the inner hub. I did the front tire (not shown)and starting on rear, this thing is so fun and starting to really look good. I got tread on tire. Also adding a bunch of details like saw tooth edges.
UPDATE. I added the guns in front, the saw tooth details around windows, flaps in the back, and tire treads on tires. The main body is still one cube, rear tires are connected I figure it will make it easier to animate, and the front are well seperate. All in all 1 cube (main body) 6 cylinders (1 for each tire and rims/spokes) and I forgot the suspension and guns cylinders. Still working on the rear
UPDATE2. Finished the engine and I kind of like it. So far I have been so happy doing this cant wait to image map it (our next project) its probably going to be difficult as all get out but, so much fun

Just completed project #2 for class it is supposed to be a 2 minute trailer. My concept is a trailer for the movie they are trying to make in Tropic Thunder. I am not all too happy with the middle of the project but the opening and the end I really enjoy. I was limited by the audio using the audio from the crappy movie rip I had but I think I pulled some really good inovative stuff. My class mates are super talented and it has been a joy to watch their trailers and if anyone posts I will link to it.
